Tropical Storm Amanda is now Hurricane Amanda as of the 8:00am Advisory from the National Hurricane Center. Winds of 75 mph, which makes the storm a Category 1 Hurricane and will continues to strengthens over the weekend into next week. Moving slowly due West Northwest at 5 mph with a Pressure of 989 millibars. It’s the first storm of the season, and the first hurricane of the season, and could become the first Major Hurricane in the season as well. By early Monday Morning, it will become a Category 3 Hurricane with top winds of 115 mph. But after Monday, it will weaken by the time it reaches north. Again, no threat to land. This is the only game in town. The Atlantic Hurricane Season doesn’t start until 1 week from Tomorrow, so get ready for this year’s season, even if it’s a slow season.
