Well that escalated quickly, Hurricane Amanda has became a Major Hurricane, a Category 4 hurricane with 155 mph. The pressure dropped to 932 millibars and moving slowly at 2 mph due North. It has one more MPH to become a Category 5, but that’s not gonna happen. Amanda became the first Major Hurricane of the Season, making it the earliest Major Hurricane in the month of May. Satellite Imagery shows a well developed storm with a well developed eyewall. However, that won’t last long. Projected Path states that no Cat. 5 Scale in the forecast, and it will weaken by the time it’ll reach north to the tip of the Baja California peninsula. As for the Atlantic, still quiet. The 2014 Atlantic Hurricane Season begins Next Sunday. So be prepared.
